Razer has announced the Raiju V3 Pro Signature Edition, an officially licensed PS5 controller that also works on PC. This version combines an open magnesium shell with TMR thumbsticks and six extra remappable buttons. The initial run consists of 1,337 individually numbered units. Pricing and a firm release date have yet to be announced.

Open shell with a glass touchpad

The design is the most distinctive feature of this Signature Edition. Razer uses a magnesium alloy exoskeleton with open geometric patterns on the top and rear, leaving parts of the interior visible. According to the manufacturer, a nanocoating is designed to protect the exposed components from dirt. No specific protection rating is provided.

The controller weighs 260 grams and features grips with a matte black TPU texture. The central touchpad is made of tinted, translucent glass with a laser-etched Razer logo. Razer uses double-shot PBT for components including the action buttons and directional pad: the symbols are incorporated during the plastic molding process rather than simply printed on the surface.

TMR sticks and six extra buttons

The thumbsticks have a symmetrical layout and use contactless TMR sensors. There are also four rear buttons with a mouse-click-like feel and two extra bumpers for use with a claw grip. You can remap these six buttons to actions such as crouching, performing a melee attack or using a gadget.

  • Platforms: officially licensed for PS5, with PC support as well.
  • Thumbsticks: symmetrical layout with contactless TMR sensors.
  • Extra controls: four rear buttons and two claw-grip bumpers.
  • Polling rate: up to 2,000 Hz wirelessly on PC via Razer HyperPolling Wireless.
  • Weight: 260 grams.
  • Settings: button mapping, stick sensitivity, trigger response and profiles stored in onboard memory.

That maximum polling rate applies specifically to PC; Razer does not provide an equivalent figure for PS5. Settings can be adjusted through Razer Synapse or the Razer PS app for mobile devices. Razer also notes that Sony has not tested or endorsed PC compatibility.

Accessories to customize the controls

The box includes alternative thumbstick caps in short convex and tall concave versions. Razer also supplies four interchangeable rear button covers and anodized aluminum tools for replacing them.

A faux-leather carrying case, a HyperSpeed Wireless dongle and a USB-A-to-USB-C cable complete the package. The dongle is intended for wireless use on PS5 and PC, while the cable can be used for wired play and charging. Razer does not specify battery life.

What does this mean for you?

The extra buttons are particularly appealing to players who want to keep their thumbs on the sticks while performing actions. On PC, the high advertised polling rate is another benefit, although that figure alone does not tell you how much faster the controller responds overall. The magnesium construction and numbered production run seem primarily aimed at collectors. Without pricing, battery life figures and independent measurements, it is too early to judge whether this version is also a sensible purchase if better controls are your main priority.
