Razer Hammerhead V3 Chroma: USB-C earbuds with ANC and RGB
Redactie · November 5, 2026

Razer has announced the Hammerhead V3 Chroma: wired USB-C earbuds with active noise cancellation, two drivers per ear and RGB lighting. The right-angle USB-C connector is a notable detail, particularly for gaming on a phone or gaming handheld. It is designed to stay out of the way when you hold the device horizontally. Pricing and specific availability details have not been announced.
Dual drivers and active noise cancellation
Each earbud combines an 11 mm dynamic driver with a separate 6 mm tweeter. This allows Razer to split bass and treble reproduction between two components. Specifications alone cannot tell us how that tuning sounds in practice.
The Hammerhead V3 Chroma uses feed-forward ANC to reduce ambient noise. Razer is targeting use on the go and in busy living spaces, among other settings. No measurements of noise cancellation effectiveness are provided, so it remains unclear how much sound the earbuds actually block out.
There are four audio presets: Gaming, Music, Movies and Calls. You can also create a custom equalizer profile. On PC, THX Surround Sound 7.1 is available through Razer Synapse. This feature is specifically listed for PC use, so you should not assume the same surround option will work on your phone or handheld.
Right-angle connector and inline controls
The USB-C connector has a 90-degree angle. According to Razer, this reduces interference with your palms when holding a phone horizontally. The design is also intended for compatible tablets and gaming handhelds. The announcement does not include a full list of supported devices.
The inline remote lets you adjust the volume, control media playback and toggle ANC on or off. There is also a built-in omnidirectional microphone for calls and team communication. The key hardware features are:
- Connection: wired USB-C connection with a right-angle connector.
- Drivers: an 11 mm dynamic driver and a 6 mm tweeter per ear.
- Noise cancellation: feed-forward ANC.
- Protection: IPX4-rated water resistance against splashes.
- Lighting: Razer Chroma RGB on both earbuds, with 16.8 million colors and lighting effects.
What does this mean for you?
If you regularly game on a phone or handheld, the connector shape and inline controls are the most immediately practical features. The wired connection avoids a wireless audio link, but Razer's claim of completely latency-free audio is not backed by measurements. Audio quality and microphone performance also remain to be proven in independent tests.
For PC gamers, the combination of compact earbuds and surround sound through Synapse could be an interesting alternative to a larger headset. For mobile use, check compatibility and whether the right-angle connector fits properly with your case or grip. Without confirmed Dutch or European pricing, it is too early to judge how appealing the overall package is compared with other USB-C earbuds.
