Logitech MX Master 4 Developer Edition launches for €119
Redactie · October 28, 2026

Logitech is releasing a Developer Edition of the MX Master 4 for €119. This limited edition targets programmers, with references to code and open-source software on its shell. The announced features come from the standard MX Master 4: the main difference is the finish, rather than new capabilities.
Code references on a matte shell
The MX Master 4 Developer Edition features a matte shell with laser-etched syntax symbols, markup tags and patterns resembling circuit board traces. The mouse also includes a reference to Hello, World, a familiar first exercise when learning to program.
Logitech has also worked smaller nods into the design. For example, 0xFF + 1 refers to the Day of the Programmer, 09.17 to the Linux kernel's release date and !04.01 to World Backup Day. These are decorative details: Logitech lists no additional programming features for this edition that are missing from the standard model.
Haptic feedback and shortcuts
The mouse supports adjustable haptic feedback. Logitech cites navigating large code repositories and switching between terminal windows among its uses. The vibrations can provide a tactile response while you work, although the announcement does not specify exactly which applications support these capabilities.
The dedicated Actions Ring button gives you access to customizable macros and shortcuts, including access to AI coding assistants. This is particularly useful if you regularly repeat the same actions. According to Logitech, the MagSpeed scroll wheel can move through up to 1,000 lines per second, while also offering precise scrolling for smaller steps.
- Model: Logitech MX Master 4 Developer Edition.
- Design: limited edition with programming and open-source references.
- Feedback: adjustable haptic vibrations.
- Shortcuts: Actions Ring button for macros and tools.
- Scroll wheel: MagSpeed, up to 1,000 lines per second according to Logitech.
- European recommended retail price: €119.
Sales start on October 27
Logitech says sales will start on October 27, 2026 through its own online store and selected retailers worldwide, while stocks last. The company has not disclosed how many units will be produced or which Dutch retailers will stock this edition.
The mouse will also be available during GitHub Universe on October 28 and 29 in San Francisco. Visitors will be able to try out macros and test the mouse at developer workstations.
What does this mean for you?
If you use your PC for programming as well as gaming, the scroll wheel and customizable shortcuts could be useful. The Developer Edition seems primarily aimed at those who appreciate the code-inspired finish: the announcement offers no functional reason to choose it over the standard MX Master 4. Details such as weight and polling rate are also missing, making it difficult to assess as a gaming mouse. Choose it for the controls and features you use in your daily work, rather than any presumed gaming advantages.
