The March 2023 Pixel Feature Drop changelog has been leaked, 9to5google.com has reported. You can find the rundown below:
The Pixel Feature Drop has now extended to both phones and watches, similar to what happened in December. The main addition for wearable devices is the Fall Detection feature, which is being introduced through a server-side update and has been made available to a wider audience since last Friday.
Regarding Pixel phones, the updates are not particularly significant. The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro have received an improvement to Night Sight, which allows users to capture low-light photos even faster than before due to new algorithms powered by the Google Tensor chip. This feature was initially announced for the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, with Google highlighting in October that Night Sight can now produce sharper, beautiful low-light images with just half the normal exposure time.
Direct My Call is now available for Pixel 4a to Pixel 5a, continuing the trend of updates.
Health Connect has also been preloaded on Pixel phones with the March 2023 Feature Drop, a change made by Android 13 QPR2. Previously, users had to download it directly from the Play Store. Additionally, Google announced that Magic Eraser has been expanded to all Pixel phone users as part of the Google One announcement made last month.
This information comes from a Google changelog intended for partners. It is possible that there will be other smaller Pixel updates included in the March 2023 Feature Drop that were not mentioned in this summary.
As of Monday afternoon, Google has not yet disclosed the official release date for this update. However, the February 2023 Google Play system update has already been released.
