Sony WF-C510 Review

Sony WF-C510

Earbuds! They come in all shapes and sizes, with all sorts of features….
Sony gave us the chance to take a closer look at these earbuds and share our experience with you. The Sony WF-C510 launched in September 2024 and currently costs EUR 39 / 49. That sounds like a great price to me, but hey! I haven't tested them yet, so let's move straight on to the specifications.

Overview

The Sony WF-C510 delivers a rich and lively listening experience. We tested this ourselves by playing music and making a few phone calls. The quality was outstanding! That said, Sony is already a brand I rate highly for picture and sound quality. At this price, these earbuds are hard to pass up. You can adjust the sound to your liking using a five-band equalizer, alongside the preset options. Bass lovers get a separate Clear Bass slider to help dial in the bass they want for a particular track. With Ambient Sound mode switched off, the earbuds can easily last a working day on a single charge. Enabling DSEE drains the battery a little faster. Want to know more about DSEE? Take a look here.

Everyday use

The earbuds fit really well and are incredibly comfortable! They are also very small and noticeably lighter than Apple's earbuds, for example. Personally, I prefer clear sound with crisp highs over booming bass. They are straightforward to use, and I definitely recommend making use of the app. You can find the app here.

They connect using familiar Bluetooth technology. The earbuds have an IPX4 water-resistance rating. Another advantage, in my opinion, is that music doesn't suddenly pause when you accidentally touch the earbuds. You have to physically press the button. This has its benefits, and you also hear a click.

Battery life is around 8 to 9 hours, and putting them back in the case gives you one additional full charge. After that, you need to connect the case to a USB-C charger again.

Conclusion

The Sony WF-C510 are simple, practical Bluetooth earbuds. They are comfortable, come with a compact charging case and offer decent battery life. Sound quality is good, and the extra features make them easy to use. At around EUR 39 / EUR 49, they offer great value for money!
