Keychron introduces Q1 Pro mechanical keyboard with Bluetooth
Remy Bergsma · January 17, 2023

Keychron has introduced a wireless version of its Q1 keyboard. The Q1 Pro retains the aluminum housing and gasket mount while adding Bluetooth support alongside a USB-C connection.

The Keychron Q1 Pro launched on Kickstarter on Tuesday and quickly reached its crowdfunding goal. The Q1 Pro is similar to the existing Q1, apart from the addition of Bluetooth 5.1, which allows users to pair the keyboard wirelessly with up to three devices. According to Keychron, the Q1 Pro offers up to 300 hours of battery life with the RGB lighting switched off. With lighting enabled, battery life reaches up to 90 hours, the manufacturer says. The keyboard also supports wired use and takes five hours to charge via USB-C.
The Q1 Pro also features a 75% layout without a numpad and an aluminum housing available in black, gray or white. Both ISO and ANSI versions will be available, although the ISO version will only be offered as a barebones kit. The barebones version will have a suggested retail price of $179.
Like the existing Q1, the Pro version is available as a barebones kit without switches or keycaps. The manufacturer is also introducing a prebuilt Q1 Pro with PBT keycaps and its own K Pro switches, whereas the Q1 comes with Gateron switches. Keychron offers one linear K Pro switch option and two tactile options. The keyboard also features hot-swap sockets, allowing switches to be replaced without soldering. The keyboards support QMK and VIA, making them fully reprogrammable.
