Hator Tonn Evo XXL
Steven van Eijk · November 9, 2025

More than just a piece of cloth
When I took the Hator Tonn Evo XXL out of its packaging, one thing immediately stood out: this is no ordinary mouse pad. XXL isn't a marketing term here; it's a promise. I use a lot of desk space every day — keyboard, mouse, controller, notepad — so a mouse pad that covers it all immediately appealed to me. Who ever has enough mouse pad space, right? Still, I wondered: is size alone enough to impress, or does Hator also deliver quality where it counts?
I decided to use the pad for a week — for both gaming and work — to find out whether this accessory is a genuine upgrade or just a piece of fabric. Read on to find out.

Specifications and design – Large, sleek and surprisingly understated
The Tonn Evo XXL measures 900 x 400 mm, making it easily large enough for a full-size keyboard with plenty of room for your mouse. The top layer is made of micro-woven fabric, designed for both speed and control. In practice, the surface feels smooth without being slippery: ideal for fast FPS movements, yet precise enough for graphics work.
The underside features a non-slip rubber base that does its job brilliantly — I deliberately tried to shift the mouse pad during intense gaming, but it stayed firmly in place. The edges are reinforced with stitching, which not only adds a premium look but also prevents fraying. That's an area where cheaper alternatives often fall short.
When it comes to design, Hator keeps things simple: a deep black base with a subtle logo in the corner (several colors and sizes are available). No RGB, no unnecessary patterns — just functionality. And honestly? That fits the EVO name perfectly: evolution through refinement, not embellishment.
User experience – Comfort without compromise
After a few days, the comfort stood out most. The mouse pad provides just enough cushioning to make typing more pleasant while keeping the desk cool and tidy. During longer sessions, whether I was working in Outlook or spending a few hours in my favorite first-person shooter, the feel remained consistent.
What pleasantly surprised me was how consistently the mouse tracked — no “microstutters” or odd sensor behavior, which can happen on some fabric surfaces. The microtexture seems to strike just the right balance between speed and grip.

Verdict – A solid foundation for any setup
The Hator Tonn Evo XXL isn't a revolutionary product. What it is, though, is an exceptionally well-thought-out, reliable and stylish mouse pad that more than earns its place on your desk. Everything about this pad feels well made, from the finish to the grip, and from its size to its cushioning.
If you like RGB edges and gimmicks, this isn't the one for you. But if you're looking for a mouse pad that simply does its job brilliantly, the Tonn Evo XXL is an understated workhorse that will serve you well for a long time.
The Hator Tonn Evo XXL isn't spectacular, but it doesn't need to be. It's reliable, comfortable and exactly what a mouse pad should be: a stable foundation for every movement. And with a recommended retail price of € 24.95, Hator has hit a real home run here.
