Today we are looking at its features, design and ease of use to help you find your next robot vacuum. Is the EUFY Omni E28 right for you? Read on…..

Design & Specifications

Robot vacuums come in all sizes and designs. The EUFY Omni E28 is on the larger side and takes up a fair amount of space, mainly because of its extensive feature set. That said, it looks sleek and fits nicely into a living room. The EUFY Omni E28 can mop, and its portable deep cleaner takes cleaning a step further.

The base station immediately catches the eye with its distinctive design and detachable deep cleaner. Its wide top gives it a sturdy appearance. But the real centrepiece is the robot vacuum itself. It is not completely round, instead combining a square shape with stylishly rounded corners. A glossy magnetic cover on top adds a premium feel, although it inevitably attracts a few fingerprints.

Setup & Use

A good start is half the battle, and for this cleaning robot, that means mapping your home. Fortunately, you do not need to do anything special. Simply start a cleaning cycle through the Eufy Clean app, and the Eufy Omni E28 automatically begins creating a floor plan. Within minutes, the map was almost entirely accurate; only a small area next to the sofa was missing. There is no need to worry, as the device keeps updating the map dynamically while it cleans. If the first version is not quite right, it will usually correct itself.

Getting the device up and running is straightforward, and the included quick-start guide is clear. After unpacking it and filling the detergent reservoir and water tank, it is time to download the app. A few minutes later, the device is ready to go. The Eufy maps the room itself and detects any rugs. Our room has quite a few obstacles, but the device navigates around them skilfully. One drawback is that frequent turning can leave some streaks and circular marks on the floor. We did not find this bothersome. Vacuuming performance is more than satisfactory, as are mopping and combined cleaning.

The detachable deep cleaner is neatly integrated and practical to use. It is particularly useful for households with young children, rugs and upholstered furniture. Its powerful cleaning function makes short work of accidental spills. It also comes in handy for cleaning your car's upholstery! Just make sure you empty the dirty water tank in good time.

Carpets always pose a challenge for robot vacuums, and this one is no exception.

Carpet performance is certainly solid, although some debris often remains in high-pile rugs. Compared with top models such as the Eufy Omni S1 Pro, this model does not reach quite as deep into the fibres. Fortunately, there is a dedicated carpet-cleaning mode that makes the robot perform more passes over the rug and increases suction power. The results certainly look tidy, but a close inspection of the carpet reveals that not everything has been picked up. This is not a problem unique to this device: even the most expensive models struggle with high-pile carpet. On hard floors, however, this robot delivers spotless results. Overall, we are very pleased with its vacuuming performance.

Conclusion:

I have now spent around two weeks testing the EUFY E28, and I have to say that its mopping and vacuuming results are excellent! The deep-cleaning function is also easy to use for thoroughly cleaning a dirty carpet or sofa. You will be surprised by how well it works.
The price is substantial: expect to pay an average of EUR 950. Still, you get a seriously capable machine for your money. The Eufy E28 Omni vacuums and mops while you spend your time on more important things.
