Be quiet! Light mount keyboard review
Maurice De Pauw · May 10, 2026

Introduction
A few weeks ago, Be Quiet! sent us the Light mount keyboard to test and review. When I unboxed the keyboard, its high quality was immediately apparent. Even gently running your fingers over the keys reveals that it is made from quality materials. The keyboard comes with a cable, a wrist rest and ARGB and RGB lighting. Using the software, you can customize the lighting to suit your preferences. This keyboard stands out from the rest because it ranks among the top 3 quietest mechanical keyboards. Below, you can find photos and read about my experience.
The Be Quiet! Light Mount keyboard is a full-size mechanical keyboard with a sleek, understated design. It has a number pad on the right, which is useful for entering numbers for work or school, although it does mean the keyboard takes up more space.
Build quality feels solid, and nothing about the keyboard feels cheap. The keys have a light feel and a dampened sound that makes them almost inaudible. Unlike many other mechanical keyboards, this is one of the quietest, making the Be Quiet! Light Mount Keyboard ideal for work, school and some gaming too.

User experience
I tested the Be Quiet! Light Mount Keyboard for a week, using it for both work and gaming. When working, it is really nice to barely hear the keys as you type. It keeps things peaceful, rather than subjecting you to the constant noise of low-quality keys.

I also used the keyboard for gaming. Without distracting key noise, I could focus fully on my games and, surprisingly, played better as a result. The F-keys are particularly useful in games that use them, something you miss out on with a more compact keyboard. Finally, I really appreciated the included wrist rest. My wrists often start to ache quickly when typing, but that did not happen with the wrist rest.
Features
The be quiet! Light Mount Keyboard is a mechanical keyboard focused primarily on a quiet typing experience. Its quiet keys are particularly suited to people who prefer silence or work in a quiet environment. Build quality is excellent, with a sturdy aluminium top plate and wear-resistant PBT keycaps. The keyboard feels genuinely premium and is comfortable to use, helped by the included wrist rest.
The keyboard only works via a wired connection (USB-C); there is no Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity. It comes with a detachable USB-A to USB-C cable, which is convenient because there is no need to recharge it, and it provides a more reliable connection.
The ARGB lighting is useful because you can choose a color for each key and even have the colors change as you type, making it ideal for switching between work and gaming.
The keyboard also has 5 dedicated macro keys, each of which can be assigned a function of your choice, making them particularly useful for work.

Software
The Be Quiet! Light mount keyboard also has software that lets you customize almost every aspect of the keyboard. It is called be quiet! IO Center. You can use it to configure the lighting, remap keys and create macros.
The software is clear and easy to use, and you can save different settings to switch easily between work and gaming. There is also a web version, so you do not have to install anything. It may offer slightly fewer options than software from other brands, but it will be more than enough for most people.
Conclusion
My conclusion is that if you need a high-quality keyboard for work and gaming, the Be Quiet! Light Mount Keyboard is an excellent fit because its features and accessories let you tailor it to your preferences. I changed the lighting colors to my liking, and the wrist rest is easy to remove thanks to its magnetic attachment. The only drawback is that the price (EUR 149.99) is fairly high, but you do get plenty for your money!
Verdict
Recommended – a strong pick in its class.
Pros
- Very comfortable wrist rest
- Outstanding build quality
- Software and customization options
Cons
- Price may be a little too high
