Review: Be quiet! Light Base 600 LX PC Case

Introducing the Be quiet! Light Base 600 LX PC case

Today, October 10, 2024, Be quiet! launched the Light Base 600 LX PC case. We received a Light Base 600 LX, giving us the chance to film an unboxing video and, of course, write this review. When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was the enormous box, with packaging that really sets the stage for what's inside. I'm an old-school PC builder, and most of the cases I've worked with have been standard-sized models, so this was something genuinely different.

First impressions

You can see our first impressions in our unboxing video. If you're interested, you can watch it here.
To share those impressions here too, the Light Base 600 LX is a beast of a tower that you can simply flip over to give it a completely different look in your gaming room. We were pleasantly surprised by this case. Coming from the traditional cases we're used to, this really is a killer case.

What makes the Light Base 600 so impressive?

Here are the features we want to highlight:

Dual-chamber design
Behind the motherboard is a large second chamber, hidden from view from the outside. This spacious compartment houses the power supply and cables. There is also room for a 3.5” HDD and a slot for an optional
HDD. In addition, you can install two 2.5” drives, with room for another two using the optional HDD expansion mentioned above.

Graphics card support
An advanced VGA holder prevents GPU sag even when the case is rotated. It even works with a vertically installed graphics card (just use the 90° PCIe
slot brackets from the accessory box).

Generous cable management options
The Light Base 600 and 900 are also the first be quiet! cases to support rear-connector motherboards, with dedicated cutouts in the motherboard tray for Asus BTF, MSI Project Zero and Gigabyte Project
Stealth boards, keeping cables out of sight.

Includes the new Light Wings fans
The reversed fan blades ensure your case
always looks stylish while maintaining airflow in either direction! Light Wings LX is a new fan series that
takes a more expressive approach to LED lighting than the original Light Wings.

Beyond these features, we're very impressed with the product's design and quality. The flexibility in how you position the case is a genuinely cool feature. You can move the feet simply by twisting them off and attaching them to the other side. There's also plenty of RGB 🙂, which really completes the look for RGB enthusiasts.

The Light base 600LX can accommodate a total of 10 fans! We'd recommend sticking with LX fans for the best possible look, and because the LX wings perform really well. Everything is also easy to access for assembly, opening up and cleaning. It's incredibly convenient, and it feels like everything has been thought through! Installing liquid cooling is no problem either, as there's plenty of room. You can fit a 360mm radiator at both the top and bottom, and a 240mm radiator at the side. Go wild, we say… !

Conclusion:

The Be Quiet! Light Base 600 LX is a real beast of a case, letting you choose its orientation so your system is always on display. It offers an incredible amount of space, and the dual-chamber layout provides a huge compartment for hiding cables and other components. The included new-generation fans are a welcome bonus, too. Want to see how it looks fully built with the Be Quiet! Light Loop liquid cooler? Be sure to check out that review as well.

Abel is currently using the case and is very happy with it. Yes, it takes up noticeably more space than a traditional case, but it certainly steals the show!

As for pricing, the case is already available for around EUR 165 (October 2024).
